6 fictional worked documents
Invoice examples with filled items and calculated totals
See how project fees, hourly work, products and other charges can be described. Each sample explains its fields and actual document mode so you can review the right starting point.
By Invoodle · Updated
All samples are fictional and omit real contact and tax identifiers. Tax inputs, prices and terms illustrate arithmetic, not verified treatment or complete statutory documents. Viewing or downloading a sample leaves your draft alone. Loading one replaces the current browser draft after confirmation if a draft exists.
Compare the scenario, document mode and amounts
Amounts stay in each example’s stated currency. They are not combined into one money total. A rent payment receipt and an export-pricing quote are included for comparison with invoices.

Use the structure, then review your own transaction
Start with the scenario closest to your work. Read the item descriptions, calculation and output limits before loading a sample. Replace every fictional identity, reference, date, price and term. Check the actual recipient, document mode and PDF rather than sending a sample unchanged.
The UK’s invoice guidance illustrates why supplier identity and required particulars need separate review. Australia’s payment-terms guidance explains the agreement context. These are jurisdiction-specific references, not proof that a fictional example meets your local requirements.
Review GST field and PDF limits, the rent receipt and HRA document context or the proforma preparation limits where relevant. The editor does not validate tax treatment, confirm payments or record customer approval.
Viewing or downloading an example uses the public sample, not your draft. Loading is a separate action that replaces the current draft; the saved-document list is unchanged. Save or download important draft work before confirming. Guest records remain browser-local; read the storage and sharing explanation and keep independent backups.
Sources and review scope
Reviewed 2026-10-19. The documents are authored arithmetic illustrations, not a complete tax, contract, customs or employer-policy audit.
Invoice example questions
Are these real invoices or customer records?
No. The names, prices, references and transactions are authored fictional examples. Real contact details, addresses and tax identifiers are omitted. Use them to review structure and arithmetic, then replace sample details and check required particulars before issue.
Will viewing a sample change my saved invoice?
No. Public previews and sample PDF downloads use the authored example. Only the explicit load action writes a sample into the current browser draft. If a draft already exists, you must confirm replacing it; cancelling keeps it. The saved-document list is not changed by loading.
Are the tax rates correct for my goods, service or country?
The tax percentages are illustrative inputs, not verified classifications or rate recommendations. The shared editor applies one document-level Tax adjustment and does not generate every required statutory breakdown. Check your actual transaction and the required workflow separately.
Why does the rent sample say Receipt and the export sample say Quote?
The rent example records a fictional payment received and uses Receipt mode. The export-preparation example is a Quote, not a dedicated Proforma Invoice. The engine supports Invoice, Quote and Receipt; adding another document name to notes does not change the export heading.
Can I keep a sample as a reusable template?
Load it explicitly, replace the fictional details, then save the reviewed document in this browser if useful. Keep independent backups. Samples are marked as samples in the app; loading one does not verify payment, record customer approval, sync to an account or send a document.
Will the PDF look exactly like the screen preview?
Both use the same document data and calculation engine. The PDF has its own shared layout with template accent colours, so fonts, spacing and page breaks can differ. Inspect the downloaded file, required fields and actual document heading before sending your own version.
Prefer to enter your own details?
Open Invoice mode with Classic and review any existing draft before editing. This action does not load an example or clear the current draft.
